Don't ignore it. Don't deny it.
LimeLight: The Symbol for PMDD Awareness
Living with PMDD can feel isolating, but you are not alone. LimeLight is the universal symbol of solidarity, a way to make PMDD visible to the world.
How to participate
WHAT IS LIMELIGHT?
PMDD affects 1 in 20 women, but it’s still misunderstood, misdiagnosed, and dismissed.
LimeLight is a simple but powerful way to change that. Paint your ring fingernail lime green during your luteal phase (the 10-14 days before your period), to help make PMDD visible, real, and unignorable.

LIME
Lime green symbolises energy, renewal, and change.
RING FINGER
The ring finger represents commitment - to awareness, advocacy, and support.

TOGETHER
This isn’t about perfection. It’s about solidarity and strength.
Let’s make PMDD impossible to ignore
GETTING INVOLVED
How to step into the LimeLight
1️⃣ Show PMDD the finger
Paint your ring fingernail lime green during your luteal phase (the 10-14 days before your period)
or any time during the month of April (PMDD Awareness Month).
2️⃣ Let your finger do the talking
Post a photo or video on social media and explain what PMDD means to you. Use the hashtag #PMDDLimeLight.
3️⃣ Share the LimeLight
Invite your friends, family, or partner to get involved. Why not suggest they also paint their nail lime during your luteal phase?
4️⃣ Lime green fingernail not for you?
For NHS staff, food workers, or anyone who cannot wear nail varnish or prefers a different way to show support, grab a LimeLight Pin instead.

Your questions answered
No! The LimeLight movement is for everyone. Those who experience PMDD, their loved ones, and anyone who wants to support better awareness and recognition of the condition.
You can paint your ring fingernail lime green or wear a LimeLight pin badge to show your support. You can do this throughout April for PMDD Awareness Month and one week every month to recognise the cyclical nature of PMDD.
PMDD impacts people for up to two weeks every month, so we encourage wearing the lime green nail (or pin) throughout your luteal phase. However, during April (PMDD Awareness Month), you can wear it at any time to maximise visibility and awareness.
No problem! You can wear a LimeLight pin badge instead - perfect for workplaces where nail polish isn’t allowed.
